Mission

Take Back Our Original God Given Rights to the FISH

✝️ Our Biblical Mandate

“Let them have dominion over the fish of the sea…”
— Genesis 1:26

Only 26 verses into the Bible, God gave us shared responsibility over the ocean’s life — not to abuse it, not to sell it, but to care for it. Game Fish Status most closely reflects that divine plan:

  • ⚖️ No sale

  • 🛑 No waste

  • 🎣 Access for all

  • 🌱 Restoration for future generations

Vision

🐟 One Message. One Voice. One Inheritance.

A National Call for Game Fish Status in Saltwater — From Shore to the Deep

Across America’s coasts, our saltwater fisheries are struggling. Species like flounder, croaker, vermillion snapper, whiting, and grouper are declining. Shore anglers are being pushed out. Federal rules favor profit over people. And waste is still tolerated while access is denied.

But the solution is simple. It’s already been written. And it works.
It’s called Game Fish Status.

⚖️ The Legal Foundation Is Already on Our Side

This isn’t a new idea. Our nation has a long legal tradition of protecting fish and wildlife for the people. Here are just a few examples:

  • The Lacey Act (1900) — The first federal law to protect wildlife, stopping commercial slaughter and interstate sale of illegally taken fish and game.

  • The Migratory Bird Treaty Act (1918) — Protected migratory species from market hunting.

  • The Wildlife Restoration Act / Pittman-Robertson Act (1937) — Used public funding from hunters to restore game species.

  • The Sport Fish Restoration Act / Dingell-Johnson Act (1950) — Applied the same model to fish, using angler dollars to restore sport fish populations.

  • The Wallop-Breaux Amendment (1984) — Expanded protections and funding for aquatic habitat and access.

These laws saved America’s wildlife — deer, ducks, bass, trout — and gave the people ownership through stewardship.

They worked then. They work now. They are already law in all 50 states.
We don’t need to invent a new system.
We just need to apply it to our saltwater fisheries.

🧱 Why Not Magnuson-Stevens?

The Magnuson-Stevens Act (1976) was meant to manage federal waters, but instead it divided us — commercial vs. recreational, state vs. federal, profit vs. public good. It turned God’s resource into a commodity, leaving families, children, and pier anglers with nothing.

Let’s return to what works:
🟩 Game Fish Status, modeled after what saved America’s wildlife.

This isn’t about politics. It’s about legacy.
It’s about food, family, and faith.
It’s about making saltwater fair again — for shorebound kids, weekend anglers, veterans, and families who just want to fish and pass it on.

“Our fisheries managers think nobody cares. Let’s prove them wrong.”

🐟 Petition to Designate the Grouper-Snapper Complex as Game Fish

Restore Fair Access • End Commercial Exploitation • Protect Our Coastal Heritage

✍️ What We're Asking

We, the undersigned, call on state and federal leaders to support Game Fish Status for the Grouper-Snapper Complex and other vital saltwater species in the South Atlantic.

Game Fish designation means no commercial sale—just responsible conservation and fair access for the American public.

🚨 Why This Matters

  • Fisheries are a public trust—but current policies favor commercial profits over the rights of everyday Americans to fish.

  • The Magnuson-Stevens Act guaranteed permanent commercial allocations while leaving recreational anglers sidelined.

  • Millions of Americans are told to buy fish they would rather catch themselves.

  • The system is failing—not because the ocean is empty, but because public access was never truly included.

⚖️ A Better Way: Game Fish Status

America solved this before. After the Great Depression, all 50 states adopted Game Fish and Game Animal laws to protect wildlife for future generations—not for private profit. These laws are fair, sustainable, and proven to work.

It’s time to apply that successful model to the ocean.

🐠 The Grouper-Snapper Crisis

  • Red snapper populations have rebounded, but other species in the complex remain in decline—due largely to non-selective commercial harvest.

  • Despite this, recreational anglers face the harshest limits, while commercial interests retain guaranteed access.

  • This is not stewardship—it’s privatization of a wild resource that belongs to all.

💔 What We’re Losing

  • Family traditions and coastal culture

  • Public trust in fisheries management

  • The chance for children to experience saltwater fishing firsthand

✝️ Our Belief

As Genesis 1:26 teaches, dominion over the fish of the sea is a shared responsibility. Stewardship is both a spiritual and civic duty. If profit is the goal, aquaculture offers a solution. But the wild must remain a public trust.

What Game Fish Status Would Do

  • End the commercial sale of Grouper-Snapper species

  • Restore recreational access for families and communities

  • Reduce overharvest and protect biodiversity

  • Promote fairness without adding government bureaucracy
